The Jaguars also placed quarterback Luke McCown on injured reserve Tuesday. McCown tore a ligament in his right knee in the final minute of Sunday's 38-13 loss at San Diego. McCown suffered the same injury in 2006.

Bouman, 38, has played in 42 games with six starts for the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. He spent four weeks on Jacksonville's roster in 2007 and was with the team during training camp in 2008 and 2009.

Bouman signed with the Baltimore Ravens before the 2008 opener and spent the entire season with the team. He was the Ravens' No. 3 quarterback for the final 10 weeks, including the postseason.
