Jaguars sign special-teams star Osgood to three-year, $6.675M deal

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Kassim Osgood to a three-year, $6.675 million contract Saturday, giving them a special-teams standout and wide receiver.

The deal could be worth up to $10.875 million with incentives, a league source told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Osgood, who's 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, made the Pro Bowl as a special-teams ace in three of the last four seasons (2006, '07, '09). He left the San Diego Chargers in hopes of catching more passes, and the Jaguars, who parted ways with starter Torry Holt last month, will give Osgood a shot.

On Twitter, Osgood posted a picture of his future Jaguars locker, complete with a personalized jersey. Wrote Osgood: "I'm pleased to announce J'ville is in the house! The Black and Teal Man of Steel is for real!"

Osgood, who signed with the Chargers as a rookie free agent out of San Diego State in 2003, has 33 receptions for 647 yards and four touchdowns in his NFL career. He also has 96 special-team tackles. He has missed just four games and has played in 64 in a row.
