Jamaal Charles practiced for the third straight day on Saturday and is listed as probable for Monday night when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the New England Patriots.
The probable designation means we are all but assured of seeing the running back on the field Monday.
Charles missed last week's 34-15 win against the Miami Dolphins after suffering a high ankle sprain early in a Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos.
With Charles out last week, Knile Davis carried the load, chugging for 132 yards on 32 carries and a touchdown.
After leading the Chiefs in receiving and rushing yards last year, Charles has started the 2014 season with just nine rushing attempts and five receptions.
Fellow running back De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday. If he plays, the rookie speedster could take on the role Joe McKnight played last week as a pass catching threat out of the backfield. (McKnight tore his Achilles this week in practice.)
As expected, safety Eric Berry (ankle) was ruled out Monday. He missed practice all week.
