Free-agent safety Jamal Adams visiting Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are checking in on former Pro Bowler Jamal Adams.

The free-agent safety is visiting Baltimore on Tuesday, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported.

ESPN first reported the visit.

Adams made three Pro Bowls in his first four seasons but has struggled to stay on the field recently. The 28-year-old played in just 10 games combined the past two years and hasn't participated in a full slate since his first two campaigns with the New York Jets (2017-18).

When on the field, the safety hasn't brought the same kind of impact he saw early in his career as a moveable chess piece. In the past three seasons in Seattle, Adams generated zero sacks, two interceptions, eight total passes defensed and 138 combined tackles.

Baltimore could be an interesting landing spot for Adams. Along with defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, the Ravens lost several key pieces on defense, including safety Geno Stone and linebacker Patrick Queen. Adams might no longer be the playmaker he was early in his career, but he could provide some flexibility to play in the box next to Roquan Smith in Zach Orr's defense.
