James Farrior might be close to retiring

When James Farrior was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, we figured it could be the end of the road for the 15-year veteran.

Two months later, that's the direction it appears things are headed for the 37-year-old.

Farrior's agent, Ralph Cindrich, told KDKA over the weekend that the linebacker is considering officially retiring, although he hasn't made up his mind just yet. It's likely that Farrior hasn't had any good job offers since being cut loose.

People forget that Farrior originally was with the New York Jets for five years before finding a home in Pittsburgh. He started at least 14 games for 10 consecutive seasons with the Steelers, winning two titles, but Pittsburgh has undertaken an overdue youth movement on defense this offseason.
