The Steelers announced that rookie outside linebacker Jarvis Jones was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after the game for examination of a chest injury. The first-round draft pick left in the fourth quarter shortly after intercepting a pass that later was called back because of a penalty.

Jones didn't start in Saturday's preseason game, but he was on the field in Pittsburgh's second series. He has been competing with Jason Worilds for the starting job opposite LaMarr Woodley. Jones is the Steelers' best chance for an improved pass rush this season.

UPDATE: Jones was released from the hospital, the team announced Sunday, and tests were negative.
