They say the NFL is a copycat league. Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry would often beg to differ. Their unique styles -- on and off the field -- cannot be duplicated, except by one another. The golden-coiffed uberdextrous wideouts from the Bayou have been tearing up the league's best secondaries for two years now, matching each other's rapid production and eccentric lifestyles. So it was only fair that after Beckham stretched out for an amazing grab in Miami a few weeks ago, Landry followed suit with a smooth snag of his own.
Topping Week 16's Top 10 "Performance Moments of the Week" presented by Bridgestone is Jarvis Landry's one-handed first-down grab.
Down nine points with less than seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill dropped back looking to cut the Colts' lead. Landry, flanked to his left, ran a streak past his cornerback into a hole in Indianapolis' coverage. Tannehill launched a back-shoulder dart toward Landry, blanketed by Darius Butler. The wideout turned his body, changing his momentum, and extended his right arm out toward the sideline. The ball found his sticky glove and stayed there as he secured the pigskin while falling for a first down.
Ultimately, the Dolphins would not capitalize, losing another game in another mediocre season. But the one bright spot, in this game and the rest, was Landry, who looks to set the record for most catches made by a player in his first two seasons. The only player close to him? You guessed it -- Beckham.
