Jason Pierre-Paul out for New York Giants vs. Redskins

The New York Giants will be without their best pass rusher Sunday night when they face the Washington Redskins.

Jason Pierre-Paul has been ruled out of the NFC East machup with a shoulder injury, the team announced Friday.

The announcement continues an injury-plagued season for the dynamic pass rusher, who missed the entire week of practice.

It's not a shock to see JPP ruled out. The Giants (4-7) have been all but eliminated from playoff contention, and the risk of further damage to the shoulder is outweighed by the positives of playing.

The Giants also might want to get a more extended look at linemen Damontre Moore and Markus Kuhn, as they evaluate the future of their roster.

Running back Brandon Jacobs and cornerbacks Trumaine McBride and Corey Webster also won't play.

Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is listed as probable to play after missing last week's loss.
