The San Diego Chargers announced that Jason Verrett (shoulder) is active for the club's Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos.
Verrett's availability is vital for the Chargers as they face Peyton Manning and the Broncos' potent aerial attack, especially considering that San Diego will be without veteran corner Brandon Flowers.
The first-round pick out of TCU has been impressive thus far in his rookie campaign. He has compiled 18 tackles and one interception this season.
For the Broncos, second-round wide receiver Cody Latimer is active for the first time since the season opener. Latimer has yet to catch an NFL pass.
UPDATE: Verrett injured the same shoulder during the first half on Thursday night and never returned to the game.
