Jets re-sign CB Carroll for special teams, secondary help

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets have re-signed cornerback and special-teams standout Ahmad Carroll to undisclosed terms.

Carroll tied Wallace Wright for first on the Jets with 26 special-teams tackles last season. A former first-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2004, Carroll also provides depth in the secondary.

The Jets also officially announced the signings of defensive end Marques Douglas and defensive tackle Howard Green after agreeing to terms late last week.

Douglas had 36 tackles last season while playing with the Baltimore Ravens in new Jets coach Rex Ryan's defense. Green likely will serve as a backup to nose tackle Kris Jenkins after recording one sack and 21 tackles in 13 games with the Seattle Seahawks last season.
