The New York Jets ushered in the Tim Tebow era to great fanfare, effectively rolling out the red carpet for their backup quarterback with a news conference specifically for his introduction to the Big Apple.
Now that that's out of the way, however, the Jets reportedly are doing their best to limit the degree to which Tebowmania will overtake Manhattan.
The Jets have decided to limit some of Tebow's "outside" endeavors, including weekly radio spots, NFL sources recently told the New York Daily News.
Tebow joined WEPN-AM last Friday for a one-on-one interview with Michael Kay, but the Daily News said the quarterback's appearance will not evolve into a weekly thing. The station currently has contracts with Jets starter Mark Sanchez and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning for a weekly appearance.
Tebow could receive more media attention if he supplants Sanchez as the Jets' starting signal-caller.
