Jets sign S Bush to 4-year deal, keep QB Simms

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - The New York Jets have signed safety Josh Bush, one of their sixth-round draft picks, to a four-year contract.

The Jets also signed quarterback Matt Simms, the youngest son of Phil Simms, and offensive lineman Frederick Koloto as undrafted free agents Sunday. Both participated in New York's rookie minicamp this weekend. Offensive lineman Kris O'Dowd was waived.

Bush was signed after the final practice Sunday, his agent Dennis Boyev wrote on Twitter. The former Wake Forest star adds depth to the secondary after playing at both safety and cornerback in college.

Jets coach Rex Ryan was impressed with Simms, who had stints in college at Louisville, El Camino CC and Tennessee. He'll compete with Greg McElroy and G.J. Kinne for the No. 3 job behind Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.
