The offseason started with a lot of talk about a possible contract extension for Joe Flacco. His agent, Joe Linta, said that he was looking for top-five money.
With training camp approaching, there are no signs that a deal is near. They might be further away than ever.
Flacco, to his credit, hasn't let the situation affect him. He's been at every OTA and worked out with the team all offseason.
"I'm not worried about it at all," Flacco told the Baltimore Sun on Sunday. "It's either going to get done or it's not. It's not really up to me."
Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron has lauded Flacco for what he calls his most consistent offseason yet. Cameron has also spoken that the Ravens offense has to step up with Terrell Suggs out for the year.
This is shaping up to be a prove-it year for Flacco. If he wants to be paid like an elite quarterback, he's going to have to perform like one week in and week out.
