The Cleveland Browns have made it a priority in recent seasons to keep one of the NFL's better offensive lines intact.
That trend continued Tuesday, as the Brownsagreed to terms on a four-year contract extension with guard John Greco, per the team's Twitter feed. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that the four additional years will be tacked onto Greco's current deal, which was set to expire after this season.
Greco, 28, figures to start at right guard in 2013, with Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston battling for snaps on the left side. ProFootballFocus.com graded Greco as the NFL's 19th-best guard last season, and he outplayed Pinkston (No. 32) and Lauvao (No. 63).
The Browns sent a seventh-round draft pick to the St. Louis Rams before the 2011 season in exchange for Greco. He appeared in 15 contests as a reserve with Cleveland that season, but he made a name for himself in 2012 as a 10-game starter in relief of the injured Pinkston.
UPDATE: Along with the Greco deal, the Browns on Tuesday also signed free-agent wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt, who spent 2010 and 2011 as a reserve with the Buffalo Bills.
