Jones backtracks on WR Bryant's status for 49ers tilt

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones might have to eat some crow.

After saying Thursday that wide receiver Dez Bryant would play in Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, Jones said Friday that the former first-round draft pick is questionable after missing practice again.

"We're going to have to monitor that and are monitoring it," Jones said on radio station KRLD-FM. "He didn't practice the last couple of days, but we'll see how he does today and of course we've got at least 48 hours before kickoff time. Hopefully he'll feel better as we get closer to Sunday."

Bryant has missed all of practice this week with a quadriceps bruise. If he is unable to play, wide receiver Kevin Ogletree is likely to slip into the starting lineup.

Cornerbacks Terence Newman (groin) and Orlando Scandrick (ankle) have already been ruled out of Sunday's game.
