Who was the Fantasy Player of the Week? Vote on the top performers and decide!
Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys
Romo hasn't put up huge fantasy totals in recent weeks, but he more than made up for it on Sunday night against the Giants. The veteran quarterback put up 319 passing yards and four touchdowns in the contest, en route to his best fantasy stat line of the entire season. His scores came on passes of 12, 9, 6 and 50 yards, the last of which went to Dez Bryant. With an upcoming matchup against the Buccaneers in Week 15, Romo needs to remain active in the fantasy semifinals.
Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons
Ryan, who had averaged a mediocre 208 passing yards in his previous three games against the Panthers, went off against his NFC South opponent for 304 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-23 win. The Boston College product connected on scoring strikes of 5, 31, 17 and 75 yards, two of which went to rookie Julio Jones, en route to one of his best fantasy performances of the season. Fantasy owners should consider Ryan a nice option on Thursday night when he faces the Jaguars.
Mark Sanchez, QB, Jets
It's too bad that Sanchez wasn't a more consistent quarterback, because when he's good he can be very good. That was the case in Week 14, as he racked up a total of four touchdowns in a blowout win over the Chiefs. Though he threw for a mere 181 yards, the USC product still scored 25.64 fantasy points based on scoring passes of 4 and 19 yards and runs of 1 and 3 yards. Consider Sanchez a risk-reward start next week in Philadelphia, where he faces a very desperate Eagles team.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jaguars
Despite the fact that he has no real help on the offensive side of the football, Jones-Drew is still putting up monster numbers in fantasy land. He went off against the Buccaneers, putting up a total of 162 scrimmage yards and four total touchdowns in a 41-14 win. "Pocket Hercules" found the end zone on two 1-yard runs and a pair of 5-yard passes from Blaine Gabbert. While he has a tough matchup against the Falcons up next, Jones-Drew remains a must-start in fantasy leagues.
Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots
Gronkowski is having one of the best fantasy seasons of any tight end in NFL history. He continued to burn up the stat sheets in Week 14, posting 160 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-27 win over the Redskins. His scores came on passes of 11 and 37 yards from Tom Brady, who also put up an enormous fantasy total of his own. Gronkowski, who has now posted 1,088 yards and 16 total touchdowns, has scored 20-plus fantasy points four of his last five games. He faces the Broncos next.
