Coach Bill Belichick couldn't care less about the air traffic over Patriots practice, but at least one New England star found humor in Thursday's prank.
Asked about Jets fans flying a plane overheard -- with a banner screaming "CHEATERS LOOK UP!" -- wideout Julian Edelman told reporters, per The Boston Globe: "You know, it's pretty funny actually to see those kinds of things."
Belichick wouldn't even acknowledge the stunt on Friday, shrugging off questions about "Deflategate" and Jets-fan-inspired antics to ask: "What plane?"
Edelman backed up Belichick, making it sound as though his coach never even noticed the banner.
"Truthfully, you look up and you hear the whistle and you've got to get to the next period, so coach (Belichick) is over here yelling at us to get to the next period," Edelman said. "You can't even really think of it. Coach always has his tactics to keep us in the game."
Nobody's more thrilled about Tom Brady's current four-game suspension than Jets faithful -- a long-suffering fan base counting the days until New England's dominance over the AFC East fades away.
Getting Belichick's attention, though, will happen one place only: on the field.
