Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith has confirmed that wide receiver Julio Jones will be available for the start of training camp on Friday. But look for Atlanta to take a cautious approach with the franchise star.
"He will be limited in terms of his snaps," Smith said Tuesday, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Our number one goal is to make sure that we've got everybody as healthy as we possibly can be, but we know that we have to get these guys some work together and reps. Julio will be out there participating in practice right from the start."
It was reported last weekend that Jones underwent a "cutting-edge medical procedure" involving stem cells to help ensure his right foot will remain healthy going forward. Jones is a safe bet to again be one of the NFL's most productive wideouts and a major reason why Atlanta can bounce back after last season's 4-12 meltdown.
Here is one guaranteed Hard Knocks subplot.
