One of the major reasons behind the Raiders' success this season has been their offensive line. The unit, however, was without its anchor in the trenches in a big prime-time showdown.
Guard Kelechi Osemele was a late scratch for Thursday night's 21-13 loss to the Chiefs due to an illness. After the game, Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said Osemele was hospitalized Thursday morning, but added that he expected him to be better in a couple days.
The offensive lineman was limited all week in practice with a knee injury, and was listed as questionable before the game, although he was expected to play. The Raiders will also be without first-round rookie safety Karl Joseph (toe).
Osemele was a huge free-agent prize for Oakland this offseason, and has led a group up front that has allowed the fewest sacks in the league (12).
