PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed six players to future contracts for the 2011 season, including linebackers Mortty Ivy and Baraka Atkins.
Ivy, who played at Gateway High in suburban Pittsburgh and West Virginia University, was a developmental player last season with the Carolina Panthers. Atkins played two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and has been on the San Francisco 49ers' and Denver Broncos' rosters.
Also signed were former Cincinnati Bengals running back James Johnson, former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Nevin McCaskill, former St. Louis Rams fullback-tight end Jamie McCoy and former New York Jets cornerback Donovan Warren.
They can't practice with the Steelers until this season ends.
