Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley isn't worried about a significant workload for running back Le'Veon Bell on short rest.
"He's a young guy, and he wants (the ball) all the time," Haley said Tuesday, via TribLive.com. "I haven't ever seen him dragging around after a big game, which is what he had."
Some would worry about tiring out their superstar just four days after he logged 28 carries for 146 yards and eight catches for another 55. Watching the Steelers-Browns game for a second time this week, it was stunning how central Bell was to the game plan in nasty weather. The sideline oxygen tanks were never so useful.
Even if the popular theory is that Ben Roethlisberger will try and expose the league's lowest-rated pass defense in terms of yardage (284.5 yards surrendered per game), Bell said he's ready for a repeat on Thanksgiving.
"I just feel like I try to get out of each game healthy. That's the biggest part for me," Bell said, via TribLive.com. "I don't look at it like how many carries I got. After the game, I'll see it (and say), 'Man, I got the ball 28 times.' It will hit me then. But during the game I don't really feel it.
"Being in my rhythm, I can never tell whether I got 15 carries or 25 carries. It's never really a difference to me. I just go out and play."
Despite missing three games due to suspension, Bell is just 100 yards behind Chicago's Jordan Howard for 10th on this year's rushing leader board. He is tied for 18th in receptions (53) alongside favored targets like Davante Adams in Green Bay and Cole Beasley in Dallas. We've known all along that Bell was a special player, but as he stacks more games like this together, our initial concept of his open-market value could have been way off.
