Shady played coy Thursday following the Philadelphia Eagles' 33-10 pasting of the Dallas Cowboys.
LeSean McCoy started out saying he didn't compare himself to the NFL's leading rusher, DeMarco Murray, and that it didn't matter who ran for more yards.
The running back couldn't keep up the act long, however, eventually admitting he had something to prove on Thanksgiving in front of a national audience.
"Obviously, I wanted to out-rush him," McCoy said with a smile, per CSN Philly. "It's a pride thing."
McCoy finished with 159 yards on 25 carries, more than doubling Murray's 73 yards on 20 totes.
"Overall, I wanted to win the game," McCoy said. "And if it happened the other way around where he had more yards than me and we won the game, that's cool too."
Shady went over the 1,000-yard mark on the season (1,018) and pulled into second place on the rushing yards list -- still 409 yards behind Murray. McCoy has gone for 100-plus yards on the ground in four of the last seven games after starting the season with five straight games under the plateau.
Thursday also marked back-to-back games of 130-plus yards, for which he credited his offensive line finally coming together.
"The game ball really belongs to them guys up front, for sure, because this was by far their best game," he said. "And they're getting back. Now this is my O-line again. These are the guys that get it done."
If the offensive line continues to get it done, Shady will become even more dangerous as the Eagles fly into the playoffs.
