The Detroit Lions remain hopeful of getting back running back Jahvid Best at some point after their Week 9 bye, according to a team source.
The team plans to gauge where Best is in his recovery from his latest concussion following their bye. The Lions believe that, barring a setback, Best will be able to play again this season.
The Lions did not plan to have Best practice fully this week and will continue to follow the NFL's concussion protocol.
Best's concussion in the Lions' Week 6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was his second of the season. He also sustained a concussion during the preseason.
