NEW YORK -- Mariah Carey and No Doubt are superstar acts, but they'll be the openers for the NFL's first game of the season.
Carey and No Doubt are set to perform live from Rockefeller Plaza before the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The hourlong pregame show will air at 7:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
Carey says she's thrilled to be performing in New York - which she called her hometown -- and adds she's looking forward to making the season launch "even more festive."
No Doubt drummer and New Orleans Saints fan Adrian Young says he's excited to take part, and noted that the band performed at Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003.
Carey recently released the single "Triumphant (Get `Em)." No Doubt's new album, "Push and Shove," is out Sept. 25.
On Wednesday, NFL Network announced that singer Cee Lo Green would perform the opening theme to "Thursday Night Football" this season, beginning on Sept. 13, when the Bears visit the Packers at 8 p.m. ET.
