It is a glorious buyer's market for extremely wealthy linebackers in the Buffalo area. Especially when disgraced area lawyers are thrown into the mix.
The Buffalo News reported Wednesday that Mario Williams has paid $2 million to buy the lavish home of Kenneth Bernas, who put the estate up for sale after he was convicted of swindling 53 of his clients out of $3.1 million. Bernas was sentenced to 2 1/3 to 7 years behind bars and was ordered to pay back $1.78 million.
In other words, Bernas had to sell the big house before going to the big house.

Set on 10.2 acres, the two-story house includes a weight room, 6 1/2 bathrooms, limestone, marble and cherry hardwood floors, two laundry rooms, enormous walk-in closets, a bathroom with a whirlpool and white Greek columns, a spiral central staircase, fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, a big modern kitchen, expensive millwork, a two-floor library and study, and a four-car garage.
According to the report, Williams and his fiancee spent an afternoon driving around the area, looking at neighborhoods where they might want to live. Considering Williams signed a $96 million deal with the Bills in March, it's safe to assume he had the pick of the litter.
We're guessing the couple's search ended when they found the only place in western New York with white Greek columns in the bathroom.
