Marvin Jones' broken foot sacked the wide receiver's entire 2014 season and foreboded an injury-plagued season for the Cincinnati Bengals' offensive weapons.
In a playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts, quarterback Andy Dalton was without pass catchers A.J. Green (concussion), Tyler Eifert (elbow/shoulder), Jermaine Gresham (back) and Jones.
Jones' explosiveness in 2013 led him to 10 touchdowns and his constant highlight-reel plays landed him on our "Making the Leap" list last season.
After foot and ankle surgery, Jones is back running:
Jones told the Bengals' team website that he plans to be ready when the offseason workouts begin in April.
"I've got the green light to do anything and everything I need to do to get back to where I need to be," Jones texted on Thursday. "I've been surprised at the progress I've made in only going on my second week training and at the rate I'm going I'm sure I will be in game shape very soon."
After the Bengals' depth at the receiver position was exposed last season, getting Jones back on the field will be a huge boon for both Dalton and Green in 2015.
