Matthews, Woodson miss practice, but Grant back for Pack

There's no doubt left for Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy that running back Ryan Grant is ready to return.

Grant fully participated in practice Thursday, his second consecutive day on the field after he sat out last week's victory over the Denver Broncos because of a bruised kidney he suffered the previous week.

"He's ready to go," McCarthy told reporters. "He's back to his old self. He was punchy as hell at practice. He's ready."

Grant had started the first three games of the season and is second to James Starks on Green Bay with 157 rushing yards on 32 carries.

Linebacker Clay Matthews (quadricep), cornerback Charles Woodson (foot, knee) and right tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) didn't practice for the second consecutive day, but wide receiver Donald Driver (shin) and left tackle Chad Clifton (knee) fully participated as the Packers prepare for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
