LAKE FOREST, IL –- The Chicago Bears announced the signing of restricted free agent safety Brandon McGowan on Tuesday. McGowan signed his one-year tender offer from the Bears. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
McGowan started a career-high nine contests in 2007 in 14 games played. The 2005 undrafted free agent finished sixth on the team and third among Bears defensive backs with 80 tackles last season. He ranked tied for third on the team with his first two career interceptions while adding one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 10 special teams tackles.
For his career, McGowan has started 12 of 23 games played with 110 tackles (72 solos) with two interceptions and 16 special teams tackles.
