Miami Dolphins hire offensive line coach Mike Maser

MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins hired Mike Maser as offensive line coach Friday, the first assistant hired by new coach Tony Sparano.

Maser was out of football in 2007 but has 34 years of coaching experience, including 12 as an offensive line coach in the NFL. He worked for the Carolina Panthers in 2003-06, and with Sparano when they were assistants in Jacksonville in 2002.

Sparano was hired Wednesday to replace Cam Cameron, who went 1-15 in his first season as an NFL head coach.
