Miami head coach Al Golden said Sunday he is not a candidate for any coaching positions in a statement released by the school.

Golden reportedly interviewed for the Penn State job on Saturday.

"There has been much speculation concerning my future at the University of Miami," Golden said. "While I am flattered that our progress at The U during an extremely difficult period of time is recognized, I am also appreciative of just what we have here at UM and I am not a candidate for another position."

Golden, who played tight end for Penn State from 1987-91 and was an assistant coach there in 2000, is 22-15 in three seasons with the Hurricanes.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday there is mutal interest between Penn State and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak, while former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano and James Franklin of Vanderbilt are also regarded as potential options to replace Bill O'Brien.
