According to Mike Evans, the Buccaneers have drafted well.
Tampa's second-year wideout said Tuesday that he always preferred Jameis Winston over Marcus Mariota under center.
"He can sit in the pocket and deliver the ball," Evans said of Winston, per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.
While the Titans have already begunĀ tailoring their playbook to make the most of Mariota's mobility, Winston's run at Florida State showed off his prowess to sit in the pocket and make throws.
"I did my time with a mobile quarterback. That was fun," Evans said of his days with Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M.
The majority of Around The NFL writers pick Winston to have the better rookie season, but so much factors into a young quarterback's success. It's anyone's guess which of the two will develop faster in the pros and it's arguably the presence of Evans -- a future Pro Bowler -- who makes Winston the safer pick.
