The Jacksonville Jaguars already were going to be the first team to conclude the OTA portion of their offseason, but Friday they found out their break would come a little bit earlier than expected.
As a reward for the work the players and coaches have put in, Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkeycanceled Friday's practice -- their final OTA -- and took them all to play paintball, according to Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union.
"(The players) have earned a chance to get away from the stadium and the field, and go enjoy a little bit of something different off site," Mularkey said. "Be together, be with the coaches, do a little paintball adventure. I just thought they've earned it.
"The guys have dedicated themselves to come in here, committed themselves and done everything the right way. I just told them when they do things the right way, good things come to you. I felt like this was a good time for us to get away from football and go have a little fun together."
The Jaguars are off next week before conducting a mandatory three-day minicamp on June 12-14.
