Mike Munchak says Jake Locker could play Sunday

Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams put the entire organization on notice that he will be evaluating everyone after Sunday's blowout loss to the Chicago Bears.

Coach Mike Munchak hopes to continue his own evaluation of quarterback Jake Locker as the potential future of the franchise this week when the Titans travel to Miami to play the Dolphins.

"If things keep progressing on Wednesday, he'll share the reps with Matt (Hasselbeck) as we go in Wednesday and Thursday," Munchak said on his weekly radio show Tuesday night, according to The Tennessean. "And we'll make a decision on where he's at. If we feel he is ready to go, we'll give him a chance to play."

Munchak said Locker has been medically cleared to take reps in practice and to prepare for a start after his latest MRI results arrived Tuesday.

Locker, a second-year pro, dislocated his non-throwing shoulder in Week 4 after being named the Titans' starter during training camp. The veteran Hasselbeck hasn't moved mountains, but he is far from the biggest problem on the Titans.

Locker's play was inconsistent early this year -- he struggled against the San Diego Chargers before picking apart a weak Detroit Lions secondary -- but as the season circles the drain for Tennessee, the organization will try to get its young signal-caller as many reps as possible.
