It will be the second time in three years that the Giants stay home. They trained in New Jersey in 2011 and won the Super Bowl six months later. New York had trained at the University at Albany in 16 of the last 17 seasons, but the contract with the state school expired. The tenure at Albany was the longest in team history. The Giants have also trained at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N.J., Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y., and Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J., among others.
Dates for 2013 training camp will be announced once the preseason schedule is finalized.
Also Friday, the Giants signed 13 players to reserve/future contracts, including former Indianapolis quarterback Curtis Painter, who started eight games for the Colts in 2011. Painter, a sixth-round draft choice in 2009, completed 140 of 271 passes for 1,624 yards, six touchdowns and 11 interceptions in three seasons with the Colts.
He signed with Baltimore last offseason, but was released after throwing for 400 yards and six touchdowns in the preseason.
