Ganaway, expected to back up Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight in the Jets' backfield, was taken with the 202nd overall pick -- one spot before New York also took his former Baylor teammate, offensive lineman Robert T. Griffin.
Ganaway set Baylor's single-season school records with 1,547 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns rushing last year as a senior. He could see time with the Jets as a short-yardage and goal-line back.
The Jets have three of their eight draft picks signed, including wide receiver Stephen Hill, their second-rounder, and defensive back Josh Bush, another sixth-rounder.
