INDIANAPOLIS -- Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton and fellow quarterback Ryan Mallett have been busy interviewing with prospective employers during the NFL Scouting Combine, league sources said Sunday.
Newton, from Auburn, and Mallett, from Arkansas, are facing much scrutiny at the combine. They are considered among the most intriguing prospects, have met with numerous teams and impressed some of the executives with whom they have spoke. Some teams have come away believing Mallett has maturity issues, but he has generally made a favorable impression, according to sources.
Newton met with the Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals, according to sources.
