HIRINGS

Las Vegas informed candidates that Carroll will be its next head coach, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 24. The Raiders signed Spytek to a five-year deal, Pelissero reported on Jan. 23. Spytek, formerly the Buccaneers assistant GM, was officially named to the position on Jan. 24 and replaces Tom Telesco, who was fired earlier this month after one season in Las Vegas. Kelly, a former Eagles and 49ers head coach who was the offensive coordinator at Ohio State during its national title run this past season, will now be the Raiders' OC, Rapoport reported on Feb. 2.

Dallas officially promoted Schottenheimer from offensive coordinator to head coach on Jan. 24, succeeding Mike McCarthy. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 28 that Eberflus, formerly the HC in Chicago, was being hired to become the Cowboys' new defensive coordinator. Adams, an offensive line coach in Arizona, was being tabbed as the new OC, Rapoport reported on Jan. 31. Sorensen, who had been DC in San Francisco, was the first new hire on Schottenheimer's staff, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 27. All coordinator hires have since been announced by the club.

Tampa Bay is promoting Grizzard from passing game coordinator to offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported on Jan. 31. The team has since announced the news.

Sheppard, previously Detroit's linebackers coach, is being promoted to defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Jan. 25. Morton, previously the passing game coordinator in Denver, was hired to be the Lions OC, Rapoport and NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 28. The Lions have since announced Sheppard's promotion and Morton's hiring on Jan. 30. Pelissero reported the hiring of Shaw as the passing game coordinator on Jan. 30.

The Jets are hiring Glenn, previously the Lions defensive coordinator, as their head coach, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 22. New York is hiring Broncos assistant general manager Darren Mougey as the team's new GM, Rapoport and NFL Network Insiders Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported on Jan. 25. The team has since announced the hires of Glenn and Mougey. The Jets named Engstrand as offensive coordinator and Banjo as special teams coordinator on Jan. 31. Wilks agreed to terms to become the Jets' new defensive coordinator, Pelissero reported on Jan. 29, with the official hiring being announced on Feb. 1

The Bears hired the Lions offensive coordinator on Jan. 21. Johnson then hired Allen, the former Saints head coach, to be Chicago's new defensive coordinator and Doyle, the Broncos tight ends coach, to be his OC, on Jan. 26. Chicago agreed to terms with Eric Bieniemy to become the team's running backs coach on Feb. 1, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported.

  • Senior secondary coach Chuck Pagano
  • Linebackers coach Tyler Santucci


Pagano, a former Colts head coach, has been hired as the Ravens' senior secondary coach, Baltimore announced Jan. 28. Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Tyler Santucci is being hired as linebackers coach, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Feb. 1.

  • Special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman
  • Receivers coach Robert Prince


Aukerman, formerly the Titans special teams coordinator from 2018-2023, will be hired by Miami, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 28.

  • Defensive coordinator Robert Saleh

Saleh was officially hired by the 49ers on Jan. 24. San Francisco named Boyer as its new special teams coordinator on Jan. 27.

  • Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak


Seattle hired the Saints OC on Jan. 26 to serve in the same role.

Coen was officially hired by the Jaguars on Jan. 24. Campanile was hired on Jan. 30, the team announced. Lukabu, previous the Panthers outside linebackers coach, is being hired, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Feb. 2.

Atlanta is hiring former the Jets interim head coach as its new defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 18. Ulbrich, who takes over for Jimmy Lake, was the Jets DC for four seasons and took over as the team's interim HC following Robert Saleh's firing midway through the 2024 season. Atlanta hired Rutenberg and Ollie on Jan. 24.

  • Defensive coordinator Al Golden


Golden was officially hired by Cincinnati on Jan. 23. He previously served as Notre Dame's DC and replaces the fired Lou Anarumo.

  • Head coach Mike Vrabel
  • Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels
  • Defensive coordinator Terrell Williams 


The Patriots hired Vrabel as their next head coach on Jan. 12. Vrabel, 49, played for New England from 2001-08 and is a member of the franchise's Hall of Fame. He was the head coach of the Titans from 2018-2023, leading Tennessee to two division titles and three playoff appearances. Vrabel spent the 2024 season as a consultant with the Browns. Vrabel hired McDaniels, a longtime former Patriots offensive coordinator, to resume the same position, and Williams, who spent six seasons on his staff in Tennessee, as defensive coordinator on Jan. 22.

Tennessee is hiring Borgonzi as its next general manager, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Jan. 17. Borgonzi joins the Titans after spending the last 16 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, most recently serving as their assistant GM since 2021. Fassel, who was the Cowboys' special teams coordinator for the past five seasons, is being hired in the same capacity in Tennessee, Pelissero reported Jan. 20.

The Colts hired the former Bengals defensive coordinator as their new DC to replace Gus Bradley on Jan. 21. Indianapolis hired longtime Ravens assistant Chris Hewitt as pass game coordinator/secondary coach on Feb. 1.

Cleveland is promoting Rees from pass game specialist to offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 14. The team announced the news on Jan. 15.

PARTING WAYS

Jaguars owner Shad Khan announced on Jan. 22 that the team and Baalke "arrived at the conclusion that it is in our mutual best interests to respectfully separate."

  • Head coach Mike McCarthy


McCarthy will not return as head coach of the Cowboys after the two sides couldn't agree on the length of a new contract, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 13, per sources.

FIRINGS

The Texans are firing Slowik after two seasons, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 24.

  • Special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica


Denver fired Kotwica on Jan. 17, five days after its season-ending loss to Buffalo, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. per sources.

  • Defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich


The Packers parted ways with defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich and are set to interview Jets DL coach Aaron Whitecotton, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Jan. 16. Green Bay announced Rebrovich's exit on Jan. 17.

  • Passing game coordinator/DB coach Jerome Henderson
  • Safeties coach Michael Treier


The Giants fired Henderson and Treier on Jan. 15, per NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo.

  • Defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake

The Falcons fired Lake and Rodgers on Jan. 11 after one season.

Crossman and Welker were fired on Jan. 10, five days after Miami's season finale.

The Raiders fired Pierce on Jan. 7 after one full season. Two days later, the Silver and Black fired Telesco. Las Vegas previously fired Getsy, Scangarello and Cregg on Nov. 3, shortly after a blowout loss to the Bengals dropped the team to 2-7 on the season.

  • Defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen


Sorensen will not return after one season in the position, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 7. Sorensen could remain with the 49ers in another role.

  • General manager Ran Carthon


The Titans fired Carthon on Jan. 7 after two seasons.

  • Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley


The Colts fired Bradley on Jan. 6 after three seasons with the club, the team announced.

  • Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb


The Seahawks fired Grubb on Jan. 6 after one season as offensive coordinator.

  • Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo


The Bengals fired Anarumo on Jan. 6 following his sixth season in Cincinnati.

  • Head coach Doug Pederson


The Jaguars fired Pederson on Jan. 6, one day after Jacksonville's season-ending loss to the Colts dropped the team to 4-13 on the campaign. Pederson leaves Duval with a 22-29 record over three seasons at the helm.

  • Head coach Jerod Mayo


The Patriots fired Mayo on Jan. 5, shortly after a win over the Bills in the season finale. Mayo produced a 4-13 record in his first season at the helm.

  • Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey
  • Offensive line coach Andy Dickerson


Cleveland fired Dorsey and Dickerson on Jan. 5, one day after the Browns' season-ending loss to the Ravens, dropping them to 3-14 on the campaign.

  • Head coach Matt Eberflus
  • Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron


The Bears fired Eberflus on Nov. 29, the day after their Thanksgiving Day loss to the Lions that featured notable clock mismanagement in the game's final seconds. The Bears were 4-8 at the time of Eberflus' firing, and he finished with a 14-32 record in his two-plus seasons in Chicago. The Bears fired Waldron on Nov. 12, nine games into his first season with the team.

  • Head coach Dennis Allen


The Saints fired Allen on Nov. 4 after a loss to the Panthers dropped New Orleans to 2-7 on the season. A longtime defensive coordinator for New Orleans, Allen replaced Sean Payton as head coach after the latter stepped away following the 2021 season. In 43 games as head coach, Allen compiled an 18-25 record.

The Jets fired Saleh on Oct. 8, just five games into the 2024 season. The Jets were 2-3 at the time of Saleh's firing. In 56 games as head coach, Saleh compiled a 20-36 record in four-plus seasons. New York fired Douglas on Nov. 19. Douglas was in the final year of his contract, and he posted a 30-64 record in five-plus seasons with the Jets.

RETURNING FOR 2025

Colts owner Jim Irsay announced on Jan. 5 that Steichen and Ballard would return for a third and ninth season, respectively.

  • Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham


NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Jan. 29 that Graham was re-signing with the Raiders to return for his fourth season as DC, despite the team's change of regime.

The Dolphins announced on Jan. 5 that McDaniel and Grier would return for a fourth and 10th season in Miami, respectively.
