There were a couple of games on the Week 11 schedule that seemed all set up for plenty of fantasy points. We just never thought Jaguars-Texans was going to be one of them. To our surprise, that one contest provided four of the five names on our weekly list -- just about all of which came out of nowhere. But enough with the suspense, let's hand out some kudos.
Points based on standard scoring in NFL.com fantasy football leagues
5. Justin Blackmon, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (29.60 fantasy points)
Blackmon hasn't lived up to the expectations set for him before the season. But Sunday, he was everything the Jaguars could have imagined, catching seven passes for 236 yards and a touchdown in a 43-37 overtime loss. If that wasn't amazing enough, consider that Blackmon had posted just 250 receiving yards in his first nine games combined. Yet he wasn't the best receiver in this game (more on that later). It's too soon so suggest that Blackmon has turned a corner, but with a matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 12, there is reason for optimism.
4. Chad Henne, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (30.86 fantasy points)
Henne entered the game in relief of an injured Blaine Gabbert and was dazzling. The veteran from Michigan threw for 354 yards and a career-high four touchdowns without an interception. Gabbert suffered an elbow injury and his status for next week is still unknown. That could mean Henne has a date with the Titans, who have been pretty friendly toward opposing fantasy quarterbacks.
3. Robert Griffin III, QB, Washington Redskins (32.40 fantasy points)
After a couple of ho-hum weeks, RG3 reminded us why he's a serious candidate for Rookie of the Year honors. The Heisman Trophy winner was the picture of efficiency in Week 11, completing 14-of-15 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns while adding another 84 yards rushing in a 31-6 pasting of the Philadelphia Eagles. It marks the third time this season that Griffin has reached the 30-point plateau and breaks a two-game stretch with fewer than 14 fantasy points. The Redskins have a short week as they travel to Dallas for a Thanksgiving Day contest against the rival Dallas Cowboys.
2. Andre Johnson, WR, Houston Texans (33.30 fantasy points)
It's been a frustrating year for Andre Johnson, but he erased much of that on Sunday by setting career highs with 14 catches and 273 yards. He capped his day with a game-winning 48-yard touchdown in overtime. It is just the second time this season that Johnson has tallied more than 15 fantasy points in a game -- the other time was Week 1. Week 12 brings a Thanksgiving Day meeting with the Detroit Lions.
1. Matt Schaub, QB, Houston Texans (37.08 fantasy points)
Who would have imagined that this game would produce such huge fantasy numbers? Matt Schaub was easily the fantasy hero of Week 12, setting career highs with 527 passing yards and five touchdown passes -- including the overtime game-winner to Andre Johnson. Were it not for a pair of interceptions, Schaub would have scored more than 40 points. Still, he did more than enough to take home #KABOOM honors for the week. He'll need to ice the shoulder in order to get it ready for Thursday's game against Detroit.
