The Super Bowl Legacy Grant Program strives to leave a legacy of philanthropy and positive economic impact in the communities surrounding the Super Bowl host city. In support of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, the NFL Foundation and the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee are proud to contribute $3.5 million in grants to 65 local nonprofit organizations, all with a proven track record of supporting underserved communities in the New Orleans area. This year's Super Bowl Legacy Grant Program, Impact 59 Powered by Entergy, will support local nonprofits in areas including education, health and wellness, social justice, and youth and young adults.
The $3.5 million in grants were made possible through joint contributions from the NFL Foundation and the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee and its partners. The NFL Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those touched by the game of football -- from players at all levels to communities across the country. For more than 50 years, the NFL Foundation has been one of the leading philanthropic entities in the U.S., contributing to NFL team communities, national and international disaster relief efforts, and societal issues.
"Through the Super Bowl Legacy Grant Program, we aim to ensure the NFL makes a positive community impact that lasts long after the final whistle of the Super Bowl," said NFL vice president of philanthropy and executive director of the NFL Foundation Alexia Gallagher. "We are honored to have worked with the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee to recognize and support these fantastic nonprofit organizations in their continued efforts to uplift underserved communities across the greater New Orleans area."
"Creating a lasting benefit in this community we love so dearly has been a top priority of the New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee," said Jay Cicero, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee. "Impact 59 Powered by Entergy supports the mission of 65 local nonprofits who give their time and talents to help the Greater New Orleans area. We are incredibly grateful to the NFL and our sponsors, Entergy, the New Orleans Saints, Ochsner Health, Venture Global, United Way of Southeast Louisiana and the NOLA Coalition, for all of their contributions in making this possible."
Today, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the NFL Foundation, the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson, and Entergy held a press conference in New Orleans to celebrate the impressive efforts of each of these organizations in supporting their communities.
