NFL Network to air 12 Week 1 preseason games, seven in high definition

Following last week's wall-to-wall coverage of the Hall of Fame festivities and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, NFL Network airs 12 Week 1 preseason contests with seven in high definition (schedule below). This preseason, NFL Network will televise a record 34 games in high definition – up from 19 last year.

NFL Network's second live game in seven days features Washington at Tennessee Saturday at 8:00 PM ET in high definition. Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs makes his first trip to Tennessee where quarterback Vince Young opens the season as the Titans starter after winning six of his final seven '06 starts, AP Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, and becoming the first rookie QB to play in a Pro Bowl. Marshall Faulk joins play-by-play announcer Spero Dedes in the booth.

During the 2007 NFL preseason, NFL Network televises 52 games –- all but the 13 televised nationally by the NFL's other network partners (CBS, ESPN, FOX & NBC). NFL Network carries a record eight games live, including a pair of live preseason doubleheaders – an NFL preseason first – on Saturday, August 25 and Thursday, August 30 with 7:00 PM ET and 10:00 PM ET kickoffs.
