  • S Jalen Pitre agreed to terms with Houston on a three-year extension worth roughly $39 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday, per sources. The 25-year-old defensive back gets $29.156 million in guarantees, making him the league's top-paid nickelback, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero added. Pitre, a 2022 second-round pick, gets his new deal just weeks after Houston extended his fellow '22 draftee, Derek Stingley Jr. The 25-year-old safety is now under contract through the 2028 season. In his first three years. Pitre has played in and started 44 games, logging 296 tackles, six interceptions and 21 passes defensed.
