The NFL will pay tribute to greater safety in the game as the league's USA Football Month began this week to draw attention to the Heads Up Football program.
Heads Up Football is an initiative aimed at making the game safer and emphasizing proper tackling and football fundamentals, developed by USA Football and supported by the NFL.
The NFL will honor the initiatives on and off the field during preseason. That includes Heads Up Football helmet decals worn by all players during games, ticket giveaways to youth football programs, national anthem presentations with youth players and pre-game and halftime youth football scrimmages.
