Oh, optimism.
EA Sports released their Madden NFL 17 rookie ratings and one of our favorite annual traditions is watching players predict and react when they find out how they actually fared.
Some rookie prognostications ranged from the wildly outlandish (Jared Goff predicted his throwing accuracy rating was a 94-95 while his actual rating was 82) to perplexing (Dak Prescott said his kicking rating was a 10). There's no real answer.
So alas, watch as rookies like Ezekiel Elliott, Paxton Lynch and others learn lessons of humility from the Madden gods.
"My mother would be ashamed of me," Lynch says of his 79 speed rating.
Well, he has a whole season to prove them wrong.
