In contrast to the circuitous process that recently gave birth to a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings, the era from 1995 to 2003 saw 17 new stadiums erected across the NFL. Changes in technology have made even some of those football palaces in need of an upgrade, while changes in the national economy have made doing that a lot more difficult.
