NFL suspends Seattle Seahawks' Brandon Browner indefinitely

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Seattle Seahawks safety Brandon Browner has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

  • DenverBroncos.com reported that John Elway, Broncos executive vice president of football operations, spent Wednesday morning on the phone with more than two dozen members of the military.
  • Indiana University optometrists are expanding their sports concussion study thanks to a grant from the National Institutes of Health, according to The Associated Press.
  • The Digital Journal published a press release that said former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon will team up with Stamford Hospital, Trauma Imaging Foundation and two cranio-cervical specialists, to talk about the Image Guided Atlas Treatment that "literally changed his life."
  • Bloomberg reported that a panel of federal judges ruled that 10 lawsuits accusing the NCAA of concealing the long-term risks of concussions in student sports must be litigated in Chicago.
