'NFL Total Access' recap: Victor Cruz's new deal with N.Y. Giants

Did you miss Monday's edition of "NFL Total Access" on NFL Network? Catch up with this recap:

Cruz signs extension

Aditi Kinkhabwala reported that the contract extension Victor Cruz signed with the New York Giants was the same offer that's been on the table for a while. She said Cruz was tired of the process and just wanted to get it done. Cruz said that he feels like there's a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders now that the contract is done. He said he wants to retire as a Giant.

NFC East storylines

Donovan McNabb and Shaun O'Hara discussed the top storylines in the NFC East. For the Philadelphia Eagles, they chose the quarterback competition between Nick Foles and Michael Vick. For the Dallas Cowboys, O'Hara picked the transition from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3, while McNabb went with coach Jason Garrett losing his play-calling duties to Bill Callahan. They both agreed the biggest storyline for the Giants is the health of Jason Pierre-Paul. O'Hara and McNabb agreed that Robert Griffin III's health is the most important storyline for the Washington Redskins.

32 in 32: Packers

McNabb stated that the Green Bay Packers are going to be better at running the football this year and that will take pressure off Aaron Rodgers. Because the Packers haven't had that kind of run game in a long time, McNabb believes the Packers will be better than ever this year. O'Hara doesn't believe it's a big deal that the offensive line group is being shuffled around a bit because they have the best quarterback playing behind them. He added that the line has a lot to prove and we will see a much better performance in 2012.

Kluwe's new book

Oakland Raiders punter Chris Kluwe joined the show in-studio to talk about his new book. He said that he would never talk about his teammates or his team and would rather talk about the society we live in. He wanted to write something different, that covered the world we live in. He added that he's 100 percent focused on football when he's on the job.

Breakout players

O'Hara believes Giants tight end Brandon Myers will be a breakout player in 2013 because he will be a great third option for Eli Manning. O'Hara mentioned that Myers dominated in Oakland, and no one even knew his name. McNabb picked another Giant in running back David Wilson. McNabb says Wilson will have a breakout year taking over for Ahmad Bradshaw.

Superstars stepping back

O'Hara believes RGIII is going to take a step backward because he plays in a tough division, and he will have a hard time putting up the same kind of numbers that he did last year. O'Hara added that it will be difficult for Griffin to have the same impact running the football coming off of a knee injury.

Most memorable moment in 2012

O'Hara went with Mark Sanchez' butt-fumble, while McNabb chose San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick's first NFL start, a dazzling Week 11 performance versus the Chicago Bears.
