Niners, Raiders, Dolphins plan visits with RB prospect Jones

Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones will visit the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins, a source with knowledge of the situation said Sunday.

Jones' meeting with the 49ers is set for Wednesday. The exact dates of the Raiders and Dolphins visits aren't known, although they will be this week.

Jones already has met with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

The speedy Jones has generated a lot of attention in the past few weeks and helped himself at his pro day last week in Northern California after he ran 40-yard dash times in the 4.3- to 4.35-second range, according to a source who attended.

Twenty-seven NFL teams watched Jones, who couldn't participate in any postseason bowl games or the NFL Scouting Combine because of a broken foot sustained during the season.

"I like to think that I'm a first-round back," Jones said at his workout, according to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. "I feel like if I was in a bigger program, I could be that. I wanted to come out here and put up the numbers like a first-round back and compete like them. If a team feels the same way, the sky's the limit."
