San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore said Monday that X-rays on his injured ankle were negative, and he expects to practice this week and play against the New York Giants.
"I'll be all right. I'm cool," Gore said. "Just checking up some things on my body. Yeah, I'll be all right."
Gore clearly was hurting after the 49ers' 19-11 victory over the Redskins and needed help getting off the postgame podium in Washington.
Niners defensive end Ray McDonald, who missed his first game since 2008 because of a hamstring injury, said Monday that he expects to be ready come kickoff Sunday.
"I'm doing better, good to go this week," McDonald said.
