Nnamdi Asomugha returns to Eagles despite eye injury

What started as a seemingly innocuous poke in the eye led to a trip to the locker room for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on Sunday night.

The Eagles originally announced Asomugha had been taken to Wills Eye Hospital for further evaluation of the injury, but they later said he didn't go there. His return to Sunday night's game against the New York Giants was listed as doubtful, though he returned to the field in the third quarter.

Asomugha was poked in the right eye by Giants wide receiver Ramses Barden. NBC cameras later saw Asomugha walking with a trainer to the locker room.

Brandon Hughes replaced Asomugha in the Eagles' lineup in the second and third quarters.
