The Oakland Raiders are 12th team to ink their 2016 first-round draft pick.
Safety Karl Joseph signed a four-year deal Monday, according to the team's official website. Though the terms of the deal were not immediately available, the pick in front of him -- Dolphins offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil -- signed a four-year deal worth $12.46 million last week. The way rookie deals are slotted, Joseph should be in that ballpark.
Draft signings often come in waves and right now, picks 10-20 are on a roll. Almost every player selected between that range is under contract, with wide receiver Corey Coleman (Browns), defensive end Shaq Lawson (Bills) and linebacker Darron Lee (Jets) as the lone holdouts.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Joseph saw the Raiders' facilities for the first time Monday. The team opted not to host him on a pre-draft visit and, because he was visiting friends and family in Haiti on draft day, the Raiders allowed him to stay a bit longer.
Joseph, who has been drawing early comparisons to 49ers legend Ronnie Lott, will wear No. 42 in Oakland. That does not seem like an accident.
